Starehe Girls' Centre
Starehe Girls’ Centre opened its doors in January 2005, the culmination of a life-long dream for its founder, Dr Geoffrey Griffin, who sadly only lived to see the school in operation for six months. The centre operates on the same principles as Starehe Boys, welcoming some of the brightest but most disadvantaged girls from across Kenya and offering them free secondary education. The centre is situated in countryside outside Nairobi.

Starehe Girls visit Macclesfield
We welcomed a group of girls to Macclesfield in Sept 2009, to take part in our special fund-raising concert Martyn’s Music 5.
Following the success of the boys’ visit, we were delighted to welcome a party from Starehe Girls in Sept 2006. The girls were able to take part in our third ‘Martyn’s Music’ concert, at which they thrilled the audience with their traditional Kenyan tribal dancing and singing. Their accounts can be read here.
